Defensive end Noah Spence came to New Orleans late last season, getting added to the roster in December after spending a couple of months with the Washington Redskins. He did not see any playing time in Black & Gold, but has been re-signed for a return in New Orleans.

Spence was a 2016 second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and had 5.5 sacks in his rookie season. But he only added one more over the next two seasons and failed to make the Bucs’ roster out of training camp last year. The 26-year-old will look to continue refining his game with the Saints and gets an All-Pro like Cam Jordan to learn from on the d-line.
The Black and Gold also added cornerback/safety Deatrick Nichols who was leading the XFL in interceptions before the season was cut short. The 5-foot-10, 189-pounder had 3 INTs, with six pass breakups thru the first 5 weeks and also tallied 24 tackles with 3 for a loss. He does have some NFL experience playing for the Arizona Cardinals in 2018 after going undrafted out of South Florida.
