Linebacker Manti Te’o is back in the NFL and back in Black & Gold. He had been unsigned this season but continued training in preparation for a potential opportunity. The Saints came a calling after Kiko Alonso and A.J. Klein suffered injuries in the win on Thanksgiving.
Te’o is someone who knows Dennis Allen’s scheme and had a solid 2017 with the Saints recording 62 tackles in a career-high 16 games. But, injuries forced him to an inactive role to close out 2018 and into free agency. Te’o was a 2nd round pick of the Chargers in 2013, and has tallied 313 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovered and two interceptions in 59 career games.
