There are 20 days left until the Saints season opener in the Mercedes Benz Superdome and Coach Sean Payton wants to get his team inside their home venue very soon for a scrimmage type of practice setting.

“The plan is to be at the Superdome on Friday, and then we'll be back at the Superdome next week as well,” said Payton.

With no preseason games, the team still hasn’t been inside the dome since last season. All their work has been at the Oschner Sports Performance Center in Metairie so far. Safety Marcus Williams looks forward to taking the trip into the city.

"I think it's beneficial to be able to go to the dome and get some more reps, do some live reps.  They’re just going to help us, especially without the preseason games,” Williams explained.

"I think it's just a good opportunity for us just being able to get under the lights, being able to get that feeling, especially without the fans. It's going to be pretty much exactly how games are going to be. Practicing game-like situations in a game environment for this year is going to be beneficial for us."

A Who Dat-less Superdome will look and feel awkward to open the season on September 13th.  There is a good chance that the Saints 2nd home game in week 3 against the Green Bay Packers will also be held without any fans in the stands.
