'Dream Weaver' singer Gary Wright dies at 80

70’s heartthrob Gary Wright, best known for his hits "Dream Weaver" and "Love is Alive," has reportedly died at the age of 80.

According to Wright's son, Justin, the singer and keyboardist had been suffering over the last few years from Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia, and tells TMZ Gary passed on Monday morning, September 4, surrounded by family at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, CA.

Music fans will certainly remember the 1975 soft ballad above from numerous television and movie soundtracks including Wayne's World, The People vs. Larry Flynt, Ice Age: Collision Course, Toy Story 3, and tons of others.

Fellow singer and songwriter Stephen Bishop was among the first to share his memories of Wright on social media.
