One couple has taken the house float idea to the next level, turning their entire yard into a scene from a Mardi Gras Parade.

John and Rhonda Combel say their "Yardi Gras" scene features everything from a float and dune buggy to people hanging over barricades and ladders.  They even have actual trash, a carnival port-a-potty and Bernie Sanders.

"We ride in ten or twelve parades a year... so we just decided to portray what we see," Rhonda explained.

John says,"We both create this... it does get expensive at times to do things like this, but we've brought so much joy."

They have also been playing Mardi Gras music for guests who drive by.

Rhonda adds that one of the biggest costs is gathering the trash.  They have been eating out at local businesses to get legit food wrappers to put on the ground to make the experience authentic like a real parade.  She is, however, washing the trash so it doesn't attract insects.

On Fat Tuesday they plan to actually throw beads to people who drive up to see the display.

Check it out at 2512 Cypress Lawn Drive in Marrero.
