The story of how a couple's chance encounter at Mardi Gras in New Orleans ended in everlasting romance is going viral online.
The Humans of New York post recalls how a woman, who does not identify herself by name, met her beau Zak while visiting the Crescent City while on break from college with three of her friends.
"I’m on college break with my three best childhood friends," she writes. "Zak is there with his parents. He’s got his mom and dad with him. So it’s two different vibes, but somehow we all end up on the balcony of the same bar."
Their brief Mardi Gras flirtation ends with only a kiss, and an expectation that they will never see each other again. But the two stay in touch and the next thing you know, " two weeks later I’m taking his virginity in a Las Vegas hotel room."
That encounter ended with Zak vomiting in the bathroom, but despite the apparent bad omen, she said "it’s been love ever since."
