A man named Mangesh Kumar was set to wed a woman named Surbhi in India when she unfortunately had a heart attack and died at the beginning of the ceremony.
Well, not wanting the wedding to go to waste, Surbhi's parents moved her body to another room, and had Mangesh marry her sister instead! The the women’s brother Saurabh said via the NY Post, "We did not know what to do in the situation. Both the families sat together and someone suggested that my younger sister Nisha should be married to the groom."
One of the women’s uncles, Ajab Singh also said, "It was a tough decision for our family. One daughter was lying dead in one room and the wedding of another was going on in another room. We have never experienced such mixed emotions. The grief over her death and the happiness of the wedding has yet to sink in."
