As we all know, Willie Nelson likes to partake in the marijuana.
The country legend is much a spokesperson for weed, he has written an open letter to President Biden asking to designate the unofficial "High Holidays," as official national holidays.
Marijuana advocates often refer to the period between April 20 and April 29 as the "High Holidays." April 20 (4/20) being the unofficial "official" day dedicated to smoking cannabis, and April 29 being Willie's birthday, advocated are calling for that time to be dedicated to recognizing benefits of the plant, and to its fight for ongoing legalization across the country.
In support of the movement, Willie actually penned an open letter to President Biden, writing "I think people need to be educated to the fact that marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana is an herb and a flower. God put it here. If He put it here and He wants it to grow, what gives the government the right to say that God is wrong?"
According to Live for Live Music, a Change.org petition has been written to "Declare the 'High Holidays' an official nation holiday." You can view the petition HERE.
