New Orleans is closed. Bourbon street businesses are boarded-up as if it were the day before a hurricane makes landfall. A few people stroll around for exercise before returning to their isolation. Mail trucks still make deliveries. But no one else can be seen around. Mule-drawn carriage tour guides are gone, no longer lined up in front of the gates of Jackson Square which is empty as well. The normally crowded Cafe' Du Monde is empty, doors locked and outdoor tables picked up out of sight. Streetcars continue to operate often empty with maybe a handful of commuters riding during peak traffic hours.
