Tour: Inside the Morial Convention Center medical treatment facility

Health officials gave a tour of the medical units that will house and treat COVID-19 patients at the Morial Convention Center. Patients who are hospitalized and recovering from the virus but do not require ICU treatment will be transported to the convention center for medical monitoring. Patients must be admitted through a hospital, the convention center will not treat walk-in patients. This is all an effort to free-up capacity at hospitals so they can handle a surge of more coronavirus patients in serious condition. The convention center will begin taking in 1000 COVID-19 hospital patients on Monday.
