The Southeastern Conference announced the opponents for the 2025 football season on Wednesday. Each SEC team will play the same league opponents in 2025 as they will in 2024, but the home teams will flip.

In 2024, LSU’s SEC schedule includes home games against Alabama, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt. In 2025, the Tigers will travel to those schools and in 2025 they will host Arkansas, Florida, South Carolina and Texas A&M.

Any hopes of the SEC moving to a nine-game conference schedule will wait another year.

While the 2025 schedule is not very imaginative, it does give the league another year to see how the expanded playoff format will impact the regular season.

In 2024 and 2025, there will be a 12-team playoff and most likely in 2026, the playoff field will expand to 14 teams.

LSU has a great home schedule for 2024, but a brutal road schedule in 2025, with trips to Tuscaloosa, Oxford and Norman, Oklahoma. Plus, LSU will open the season in 2025 at Clemson.

One other scheduling note, with CBS no longer part of the SEC TV package, game times will be different starting in 2024 according to 247 sports.

The SEC’s new TV package means games will be on ESPN, SEC Network and there will be a primetime ABC-TV game. 247 sports reports game time starting next year for SEC games will be 11:45, 3:15 and 6:45.

No more 11 AM kick-offs at least involving SEC contests!
