Usually, when a five-star recruit decommits from the LSU football program, it sends shock waves through the Tiger fan base. LSU fans are left to ask what’s going on.
But that didn’t happen last week, when LSU lost five-star edge rusher Jaiden Bryant as the South Carolina native decommitted from the Tigers and gave a verbal pledge to Miami.
There is no sense of panic as Lane Kiffin is in a honeymoon period, and the LSU fan base believes Kiffin and his assistant coaches know what they are doing. Plus, the recruiting analysts pointed out that after Bryant decommitted, LSU was recruiting multiple five-star edge rushers.
On Sunday, one of them gave their verbal pledge to LSU as KJ Green from Stone Mountain, Georgia, chose the Tigers over Georgia, Alabama, and Oregon. Green had 18 sacks, 40 tackles for a loss, and four forced fumbles at Stephenson High School last season.
LSU has had success recruiting players from Stone Mountain, Georgia. Perry Riley and Kelvin Sheppard were both standout linebackers for the Tigers from Stone Mountain, Georgia.
LSU also landed a commitment from a three-star running back out of Texas by the name of Brennan Lacy. Notre Dame, Miami, and Texas Tech were also interested in the six-foot-one speedster, who can run the 100-meter dash in less than 11 seconds.
In his junior season at Frisco High School in Frisco, Texas, he rushed for 537 yards and 8 TDS on 59 carries. Lacy also caught 10 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns.
Both of theserecruits are for the Class of 2027 and LSU now has six commitments for that class.
