LSU’s victory over Ole Miss on Saturday was perhaps its biggest of the season as fans stormed the field, which resulted in a $250,000 fine from the SEC.
In fact, head coach Brian Kelly was a little surprised that the fans did rush the field after the win.

“I didn’t expect it,” he said on Tuesday, per USA Today. “I was doing an interview and the state police grabbed me and said ‘we gotta go.’ And I was like ‘I didn’t think the interview was that bad?’”
Ole Miss had entered the game undefeated and in first place in the conference. The win knocked them down to third place with LSU moving into second while sharing the same conference record with first-place Alabama.
“It didn’t appear to me that there was anything in my mind that this would be a game where we would storm the field,” Kelly added. “But hey, let’s do more of it.”
Kelly, realizing his comments could result in further trouble with the SEC, clarified he meant winning.
“I don’t mean to [storm the fied],” he said. “I mean let’s win more.”
