LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels has been having an amazing season, despite the Fighting Tigers spending most of the season outside the top ten. But despite the best stats of any college QB in the country, Daniels is not getting the Heisman hype that some other players are receiving.
No quarterback in college football this year has thrown for more yards OR touchdowns than Daniels. But the Tiger's 7-3 record may be tripping him up.
"Most of the time the Heisman winners and top candidates are the best players that are also on the best teams," said national sport columnist for Outkick.com/Fox News Glen Gilbeau.
Gilbeau, a Heisman voter, says that's likely why Oregon's Bo Nix and Washington's Michael Penix Junior show up ahead of Daniels, at least in betting odds.
Gilbeau says Daniels is getting more looks, though.
"I think Jayden still has an excellent chance of getting invited to New York and possibly winning the thing," said Gilbeau.
Gilbeau says the fact that Daniels is playing so well despite the Tigers running third in the SEC West shows just how impressive his performance has been.
