But Kansas City made the aggressive move after losing their two top cornerbacks in the offseason. The Chiefs traded Trent McDuffie to the Rams and Jaylen Watson signed with the Rams.
Delane was coveted because of his consistency and his ability to matchup against any receiver. He had two interceptions and only allowed 10 catches in his one season at LSU.
Delane said that the Chiefs made the best move in the draft to get him.
LSU has had a player selected in the Top 10 in seven of the last eight years.
