Analysts: Don't expect to see much of LSU's Jayden Daniels in bowl game

Jayden Daniels is expected to go high in the 2024 NFL Draft, especially after winning the Heisman Trophy. So will we see him play for LSU against Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl?

One analyst says it's not likely.

"I'd be shocked if he did," WWL football analyst Mike Detillier told WWL's Dave Cohen.

According to Detillier, Daniels's draft stock is too high for him to risk injury in the New Year's Day bowl game. However, WWL.com columnist Jeff Palermo says we could see Daniels play a series or two to help receiver Malik Nabors break a record.

"I think Malik Nabors is about 23 yards away, or something like that, from breaking Josh Reed's record for most career receiving yards--that's a school record." Palermo told Cohen. "Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabors play, maybe, a series or two."

Palermo agrees with Detillier about Daniels not risking injury. He says once Nabors achieves the receiving record, both Daniels and Nabors will draw the curtain on their college careers and set their sights on the NFL Draft.

"Both of them are first-round picks," Palermo said. "Both of them are potential top-ten picks."
