Former LSU athletic director Skip Bertman and his wife, Sandy, have tested positive for COVID, but are expected to recover.
Both have been vaccinated, but began experiencing mild symptoms last week and confirmed it was COVID with the results of at-home tests, according to a report from The Advocate.
The couple, both 83 years old, received antibody treatments and will have to quarantine at home for up to 14 days.
The news comes amid another coronavirus surge throughout Louisiana, with the virus' Delta variant responsible for a surge that has sent hospitalization rates climbing to the highest point in months. Nearly 2,000 patients were registered in hospitals due to the virus, with 213 on ventilators as of Tuesday morning, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
