Her dreams of playing in the WNBA may not have gone the way she planned, but former LSU basketball standout Alexis Morris will be playing professionally for one of the most well-known teams in the world.
Morris is joining the Harlem Globetrotters.
She’ll make her debut with the team on Friday, according to LSU Women’s Basketball.
“Morris becomes the seventh current woman to join the organization, the most in the organization’s storied history,” said LSU.
“I’m excited to join the Harlem Globetrotters and want to thank the leadership team for giving me an opportunity to grow my personal and professional career while playing the game I love,” said Morris in the official release. “There is a lot to learn from my coaches and teammates and I’m excited to highlight the level of basketball and entertainment of the organization. ‘The Show’ is now a part of the growing legacy of Harlem Globetrotters basketball.”
Morris, who helped LSU to their first women’s basketball national championship last year, will be part of the Globetrotters’ North American Tour, which has a stop planned for the Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge.
