"Let's lock in and focus on the main goal of any LSU Tiger: WINNING A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!"

That was LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte's message to his teammates and to the Tigers' fan base while announcing that he would return for his senior season. Boutte, a five-star recruit from Westgate High School in New Iberia, posted that announcement on social media last night.

"LSU has been nothing but amazing to me," Boutte said in the statement. "My growth under the new staff has helped me to reach new levels. While we did not achieve the overall goal, we still fought and produced results that will be a stepping stone for future success."

According to our partners at NOLA.com, Boutte entered the 2022 campaign as a likely first-round NFL Draft pick after recovering from ankle surgery last year. However, after having a disappointing season by his standards, Boutte, the paper reports, made the decision in the last few days to come back to LSU for the 2023 campaign.

Now, for Boutte, the goal is to lead the Tigers to their fifth-ever national championship.

"The goal is always to win a national championship at LSU, and that will never change," Boutte said in his statement, adding that he believes in LSU's coaching and training staff. "It's important to follow your dreams and live with the results. While some stories will end here, mine will not."
