LSU star Angel Reese opted to skip her final season of eligibility to kick off her pro career, and she didn't disappoint in her WNBA debut with the Chicago Sky.
Reese played 26 minutes in an 87-79 loss to the Dallas Wings, dropping in 12 points to go with 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Check out highlights from the game in the video below. Can't see the embed? Click here.
Reese, who spent the past two seasons under the tutelage of Kim Mulkey at LSU, is now being coached by Teresa Weatherspoon. Both Mulkey and Weatherspoon played and got their coaching starts at Louisiana Tech. Weatherspoon is also a former assistant coach for the New Orleans Pelicans.
Reese was the No. 7 overall pick in the recent WNBA draft and represents a class that arrives with unprecedented hype, driven in no small part by Iowa's Caitlin Clark. But it was Reese's budding rivalry with Clark, which spanned the title game in 2023 and an Elite Eight showdown this past season, that truly caught the nation's attention.
Clark was the No. 1 pick of the Indiana Fever in the same class. The Sky and Fever will meet up three times this season, the first matchup scheduled for July 17 in Chicago. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
