Oftentimes in sports, the rich get richer. Success breeds opportunities for more success.

In women’s college basketball last season, no one was more successful than LSU, who shocked the nation with an unexpected run to its first national championship.

With last year’s Most Outstanding NCAA Tournament Player winner Angel Reese lined up for at least one more year in Baton Rouge and coach Kim Mulkey just getting started, the Tigers have apparently added another major player to the roster as they look to successfully defend that natty.

The Tigers will team Reese with another of last season's most dynamic players as Louisville guard Hailey Van Lith announced she is transferring to LSU.

Van Lith showed off her new team colors in an Instagram post.

The 5’7” guard led the Cardinals to the Elite 8 in last season’s tournament, scoring over 20 points in each of Louisville’s four tournament games. They lost to eventual runner-up Iowa.

During the regular season, Van Lith averaged 19.7 points per game.

Not only will Van Lith join a roster of championship veterans, including Flau’Jae Johnson, Kateri Poole and Last-Tear Poa alongside Reese. She will also stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the nation’s top recruiting class.

Van Lith was originally recruited by Mulkey when LSU’s coach was still at Baylor, but Van Lith chose the Cardinals at the time. Now Mulkey will bring one of the ones that got away into the fold at her new home.
