Good things happen to people who wait. It took a little longer than many expected after offensive tackle Jordan Seaton had a successful visit to the LSU campus last weekend that included a trip to the governor’s mansion and visit with Governor Jeff Landry.
Finally on Friday night, the former five-star recruit finally announced his commitment to LSU. The program announced the signing shortly thereafter.
It is the final piece to the portal puzzle for LSU as Coach Lane Kiffin has completed a major roster renovation by signing nine of the top 100 players in the portal.
Many people will say the three most important positions on the football field are quarterback, edge rusher and offensive tackle. LSU signed the top players in the portal at all three positions with Sam Leavitt at quarterback, Princewill Umanmielen at edge rusher and now Seaton at offensive tackle.
Seaton was a consensus 5-star prospect coming out of IMG Academy in Florida. The Washington D.C. native was the top-ranked tackle in the Class of 2024.
Seaton signed with Colorado out of high school and started all thirteen games for the Buffalos during his freshman season. He is the first true freshman to start at offensive tackle to start the season opener at Colorado and the first in the Big 12 since Texas’ Kelvin Banks (current Saints offensive tackle) in 2022.
Seaton received freshman All-American honors.
He started the first nine games of the 2025 season before missing the final three games because of an injury and allowed just one sack, zero quarterback hits and five pressures. Seaton was rated as the tenth best offensive tackle among power five schools.
Seaton has 22 collegiate starts and will be a preseason All-SEC selection.
