The hay is just about in the barn when it comes to recruiting players out of the transfer portal, so the Tigers' coaching staff can go back to its roots, recruiting high school kids.
On Thursday, Kiffin shared pictures on “X” of his visit to four New Orleans schools: Brother Martin, Edna Karr, Archbishop Shaw, and St. Augustine.
The big attraction at Brother Martin is four-star wide receiver Easton Royal, who is committed to Texas. The speedy wideout caught 53 passes for 1,551 yards and 17 touchdowns for the Crusaders in 2025. He committed to the Longhorns right before Kiffin was named the head coach at LSU.
Kiffin also stopped by St. Augustine to visit Miguel Whitley, the 2nd best receiver in the state according to 247sports. Whitley also has offers from Texas and Ohio State.
The Purple Knights have another talented receiver in Ray’Quan Williams. He is ranked by 247sports as the fourth-best receiver in the state.
The previous coaching staff offered scholarships to Whitley and Williams following a camp hosted by LSU last June.
Kiffin also went to Marrero to visit Archbishop Eagles. The Tigers recently got a commitment from Shaw safety Jackson Williams, who will sign with the Tigers on February 4th. Williams is a three-star prospect who has good ball skills, and he’s also not afraid to hit.
Shaw has another outstanding safety who will be a senior next season. Rontrae Carter is a three-star recruit who has started for the Eagles since the 8th grade. He’s a two-time All-State player for coach Hank Tierney.
And if you are recruiting in New Orleans, you must pay a visit to Brice Brown and the Edna Karr Cougars. The Tigers' 2026 recruiting class has two studs from Karr: Richard Anderson and Aiden Hall.
Edna Karr had 15 players from its state championship 2025 team sign with Division one programs, but they have another great group of seniors ready to lead the way, including edge rusher Julez Batiste and offensive tackle Zyion Wesley.
Kiffin’s staff is also on the road. The Tigers' new offensive line coach, Eric Wolford, was in southwest Louisiana to visit the state’s top offensive lineman in the Class of 2027, Sam Houston’s Albert Simien.

LSU wide receiver coach George McDonald was in Pearland, Texas, at Shadow Creek High School. McDonald offered class of 2028 receiver Jaylen Addai and 2029 receiver BJ LaFell.
Jaylen is the son of former LSU running back Joseph Addai, and BJ is the son of former LSU wide receiver Brandon LaFell.
And the Tigers new offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. was in Pflugerville, Texas and visited four-star wide receiver Tre Moore. Moore has several offers from big-time schools like Texas, Texas A&M, Michigan, Alabama and Oregon.
