LSU football adds another TE, LSU men’s basketball suffers another loss

The LSU Tigers had just one tight end on their roster for the bowl game. Freshman Trey’Dez Green had a big day catching the football, with six catches for 53 yards and two touchdowns, but received a poor grade from Pro Football Focus for his run blocking.

Coach Brian Kelly appreciates Green’s desire to improve his run blocking skills, but also needed on the 2025 roster is a tight end that can help in the ground game.


The Tigers latest addition from the transfer portal fills that need. Donovan Green is 6-foot-5, 257 pounds. Green had an outstanding prep career at Dickinson High School in the Houston area. He had a strong freshman season at Texas A&M, with 22 catches for 233 yards and two touchdowns.

But prior to the 2023 season, he tore his ACL and missed the year and in 2024 Donovan Green mainly played on special teams.

At the start of the transfer portal period, the Tigers signed Bauer Sharp, who led Oklahoma in receptions this past season with 42 catches.

LSU men’s basketball falls to 0-3 in the SEC

A lack of offensive firepower and costly turnovers doomed the Tigers on Saturday against Ole Miss in a 77-65 loss. LSU shot 41% from the field and committed 17 turnovers that led to 23 points for the Rebels.

LSU is 0-3 to begin SEC Play, but four other schools share that record, including Arkansas, who the Tigers host on Tuesday night.

D1 Baseball ranks LSU’s freshman class as the best in the nation

With the LSU men’s basketball season going nowhere, the anticipation is beginning to build for the baseball According to D1baseball.com, the Tigers have the best freshman class in the country, led by former Catholic High right-hander William Schmidt and outfielder Derek Curiel from California.

D1baseball.com’s Aaron Fitt also likes Cade Arrambide from Tomball, Texas. Arrambide has a big arm behind the plate and swung the ball well in the fall.
