LSU’s schedule the rest of the way is all SEC games and there’s not one game that you can confidently say the Tigers will win. Even the Vanderbilt game on November 23rd. Welcome to parity in college football.

The Commodores recorded their biggest win in program history on Saturday as they upset top ranked Alabama 40-35. It’s the school’s first win over a top five team.

Diego Pavia had 308 total yards, 252 yards through the air and two touchdowns. Pavia was the quarterback at New Mexico State last year and led the Aggies to their first-ever win over an SEC opponent when New Mexico State upset Auburn.

Vanderbilt started the season with an upset win over Virgnia Tech in overtime and lost in OT to Missouri. They are still Vandy in some regards as they lost to Georgia State, but Commodores coach Clark Vea is a candidate to win coach of the year in the SEC.

LSU’s opponent this Saturday is Ole Miss and the Rebels righted the ship with a convincing win over South Carolina 27-3. Ole Miss was coming off an upset loss to Kentucky, and the Gamecocks had an extra week to prepare. But the Rebels scored two touchdowns in the first quarter and it was never a game.

LSU has a tough two-game road trip coming after playing Ole Miss. The Tigers will be Fayetteville on October 19th and the Razorbacks rallied from a 14-3 deficit to take down fourth ranked Vanderbilt 19-14. It was the first home win over a top-five opponent since beating third ranked Tennessee in1999.

Arkansas could easily be undefeated. They lost to Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, two teams they led in the fourth quarter. But the Razorbacks may have lost their starting quarterback Taylen Green to a knee injury.

Texas A&M took Missouri behind the woodshed and trounced Mizzou 41 to 10. Conner Weigman returned from an injury to throw for 276 yards and Le’Veon Moss rushed for 138 yards and three scores. The Tigers are in College Station on October 26th.

LSU hosts Florida on November 16th and the struggling Gators also won. They were a home underdog to in-state rival UCF but Florida defeated the Golden Knights 24 to 13. Florida is 3-and-2 will be at Tennessee this Saturday. They also play Georgia and Texas before their visit to LSU.
