How it happened: LSU first baseman Jared Jones hit two home runs and Kade Anderson earned his seventh win of the year as he struck out nine over 6. 2 innings as the Tigers rebounded from a walk off loss to beat South Carolina 8-1 to even the series.

Turning point: LSU grabbed a three-run lead in the third inning as Jared Jones hit a solo home run and Ethan Frey blasted a two-run homer. Kade Anderson allowed one run in the bottom of the third inning, but it could have been worse.

Anderson allowed the first three hitters to reach, but got the next three men out and that was the last time South Carolina threatened until the seventh inning when Casan Evans relieved a tiring Anderson and got out of the inning after Anderson walked back-to-back hitters.

LSU played small ball too: Jones hit his second home run in the 8th inning. The Bear is now third on LSU's all-time home run list with 60 as he passed Trey McClure.

LSU also scored two runs on bunts, Josh Pearson put an excellent bunt down to score Daniel Dickinson in the 5th inning, Michael Braswell also had a sac bunt for an RBI in the ninth inning. Luis Hernandez had a sacrifice fly for an RBI.

One more game to go: LSU will close out the regular season on Saturday looking for a series victory and a 19th SEC win. 19 SEC wins should be good enough to earn a Top 8 National Seed.
