The transfer portal window opened last Friday, and LSU has yet to sign a quarterback and it is unclear who QB 1 will be in 2026.

Demond Williams Jr seemed like he could be the guy, but the talented signal caller announced yesterday he’s staying at Washington. Williams shocking decision comes 48-hours after he announced that he would enter the transfer portal, despite signing a binding revenue share agreement with the University of Washington.

So why is Williams staying in Seattle after saying earlier this week he had to do what is best for him and his family?

Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports reports that the agreement Williams signed with Washington would require a school to pay Washington four-million dollars if he left Washington and signed at another school.

So, what do Lane Kiffin and LSU do now?

Former Arizona State star and the transfer portal’s number one quarterback, Sam Leavitt, spent two days on LSU’s campus earlier this week, but he’s still at Tennessee after leaving Baton Rouge for Knoxville on Wednesday. On3 sports Pete Nakos is reporting Tennessee has a legitimate chance at landing Leavitt.

Leavitt is still recovering from surgery to repair a Lisfranc foot injury and is not available for spring practice. It’s an injury that would have any school a little bit concerned.

According to on3 sports, seven of the top ten highest ranked quarterbacks in the transfer portal have already signed. The three who haven’t signed are Leavitt, former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola and former Auburn quarterback Deuce Knight.

Knight is a former five-star recruit who played in two games this past season at Auburn.

A quarterback is visiting LSU today. Landen Clark from Elon University, an FCS school in North Carolina. Clark put up good numbers as a freshman, 23-hundred yards passing, six-hundred rushing yards, and 29 total touchdowns.

LSU also offered junior college quarterback Tre Guerra, who threw for 38-hundred yards, 29 touchdowns and 16 interceptions at Tyler Junior College.

Texas Tech, Arkansas, Florida State and Kentucky have also offered Guerra.

We’ve seen Kiffin take a Division II quarterback and make him a superstar on the college level with Trinidad Chambliss. Kiffin may have to get creative again.
