LSU to part ways with DC Bo Pelini, report says

LSU is set to part ways with defensive coordinator Bo Pelini this week, according to a report from the Advocate.

Pelini completed his first season at the helm of the Tigers’ much maligned defensive unit Saturday after being brought in to replace former defensive coordinator Dave Aranda who left Baton Rouge following LSU’s National Championship season to become the head coach at Baylor.

The Tigers switched from a 3-4 base defense to a 4-3 under Pelini finished 10th in the SEC allowing nearly 35 points per game and gave up the second most yards per contest allowing 492.

Pelini was in his second stint with the Tigers after having previously serving in the same capacity for former head coach Les Miles between 2005-07.

During those seasons he helped LSU to a National Championship in 2007, while establishing the Tigers defense as one of college football’s bests.
