Two players that powered LSU women's basketball to the NCAA title will now be looking to do that for their new WNBA squads.

Both of Tigers forward LaDazhia Williams and guard Alexis Morris were selected in the 2nd round of the WNBA draft on Monday evening. Williams landed at No. 17 overall to the Indiana Fever. Morris went five picks later to the Connecticut Sun at No. 22.

Williams' new roster will also include South Carolina star Aaliyah Boston, who was picked No. 1 overall. The Fever also selected Indiana PG Grace Berger (7); Ohio State SG Taylor Mikesell (13); and South Carolina forward Victaria Saxton (25). The Sun did not have a first round pick.

Williams averaged 7.1 points and 3.8 assists for the Tigers in her fifth and final college season that began with the Gamecocks in 2017-'18. She spent two years at Missouri before becoming one of several new faces to join this year's LSU squad.

Morris averaged 15.4 points, 4.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds in her second season in Baton Rouge. She began her college career at Baylor in 2017-'18, but was notably dismissed by Mulkey before landing at Rutgers and Texas A&M for single seasons.

Mulkey and Morris were both on-hand at the event, with the pair embracing after the Tigers guard was selected. The WNBA draft is three rounds long and features 12 teams.
