Orgeron making sure future Tigers know LSU has most former players in Super Bowl LV

LSU is set to have the most former players of any college football program participate in Super Bowl LV this Sunday as six Tigers will suit up when the Kansas City Chiefs face the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay.

Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron said Tuesday that he and the program are proud of the alumni playing in the game.

“People ask me who I’m pulling for in the Super Bowl, I’m pulling for the Tigers,” Orgeron said. “Tigers on both sides, so I’m pulling for them.”

Former LSU stars Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Leonard Fournette, Devin White and Tyrann Mathieu along with Darrel Williams and Kevin Minter are set to play in Sunday’s championship matchup and Orgeron said their names have mentioned a lot when talking to prospective Tigers.

“We’re selling that to our recruits, every recruit I’ve talked to this week…,” Orgeron said. “I’m proud.”

Orgeron has that nearly every player who comes LSU want to make it to the NFL and and that’s one of the reason’s many of his latest coaching hires have come from the professional ranks.

“Guys come here they want to win championships and go to the NFL,” he said.
“When those guys are coaching them and they know they’ve been in the NFL, they are going to listen to them.”
