With COVID-19 restrictions New Orleans still preventing the Saints from hosting fans in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the franchise met with LSU officials this week about potentially playing home games in Tiger Stadium.
Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron said Wednesday that while it's not his decision, he would love to see the Saints in the Death Valley.
“I like the Saints,” Orgeron said during Wednesday's SEC Teleconference. “Sean Payton has been good to me, Mickey Loomis, Drew Brees… I’m a Who Dat fan. So bring ‘em on to Baton Rouge, (We’d) love to see ‘em.”
The Saints played their first home game in an empty Superdome and their following two contests to a small crowd of family and friends.
Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge hosted 21,124 fans for LSU’s season opener, a 44-34 loss to Mississippi State.
