The Carolina Panthers made a somewhat shocking announcement on Sunday that they have parted ways with offensive coordinator Joe Brady.
The Panthers, who are on a bye, sent out a press release shortly after the start of the 1 p.m. ET games began announcing the departure of Brady with a statement from head coach Matt Rhule.
“I met with Joe this morning and informed him that I have decided to make a change,” Rhule said. “I’m very grateful to him for his time and effort in helping us get established over this past year and a half.”
Brady, 32, was hired by Rhule in 2020 after gaining national recognition for his work as an assistant at LSU with quarterback Joe Burrow.
But the Panthers’ offense has struggled in his two seasons with the team ranking 28th in yards per game.
