Love him or hate him, Robert Griffin III brings excitement to the ESPN booth. But he may have gotten himself into some trouble with his comments in the LSU-Ole Miss game on Saturday night.

The former Heisman winner was describing the sack on LSU QB Jayden Daniels and said this about the Ole Miss defense on the play, “they lifted that man up right there like he was Jesus and they were going to put him on the cross.”

While I probably isn’t the smartest thing to bring religion into sports, it definitely gave you a double take when hearing it live.

Griffin is an evangelical Christian, so he probably meant no ill will.

That wasn’t the only thing on the night that RG3 said. On the final play of the game, Chris Hilton dropped the game-winning pass from Jayden Daniels as the clock expired and Griffin said, “that play won’t go down as an HBO play: Help a Brother Out Play”

That comment there was more humorous than controversial. The former Baylor QB gives a unique perspective calling the game which may not be for everyone.
