Let the record show: Lil Wayne is an LSU fan.

Just hours after a hype video he narrated was shared to the masses as the prepped to face down 1 seed Virginia Tech in the Final Four, the Louisiana rap icon could be seen smiling on Angel Reese's phone, congratulating the lady Tigers on an upset victory.

Reese was lounging on a couch, and called over head coach Kim Mulkey to chat.

“We just wanted you to keep watching the game," Mulkey said through the phone, "that’s why we waited until the 4th quarter to turn it on.”

The Tigers coach was referring, of course, to the 9-point deficit her team quickly erased early in the 4th quarter en route to a 79-72 victory and LSU's first-ever appearance in a college basketball national title game.

"You already know I was watching regardless," Wayne said through the phone, drawing a laugh from the coach.

Lil Wayne's college basketball fanhood was called into question earlier in the tournament with his proclaimed support for Miami's Cavinder twins, but he found his way back home in the end.

The next question didn't receive as definitive of an answer. Reese asked if Lil Wayne would be in attendance when her team faces off with Iowa, which pulled off an upset of its own in taking down juggernaut South Carolina.

"I'm trying," he said as the video cuts off.

Either way, regardless of whether a celebrity fan is in attendance, the Tigers have a bit more business to attend to in Dallas. They made sure that'd be the case with an exhilarating performance Friday night.
