There is still a chance LSU linebacker Whit Weeks could return for Saturday’s showdown with Alabama, but the latest SEC Availability Report suggests the Tigers should not count on it.

Weeks was listed as doubtful on Wednesday’s initial report of the week. The senior has been sidelined since fracturing his right fibula in LSU’s September 26th win over Texas A&M.
However, being listed as doubtful does not necessarily mean a player will not suit up. Earlier this season, LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt was listed as doubtful ahead of the Ole Miss game but ultimately played.
LSU coach Lane Kiffin has not provided details about Weeks’ recovery. Lonn Phillips Sullivan of LSUOdyssey.com reported this week that Weeks has been participating in limited grass drills. That would suggest he is still at least a week or two away from returning.
Alabama also has several key players listed as questionable, including some who could provide a significant boost if they are cleared to play.
Star wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams is among them. He has missed the last two games after reportedly undergoing knee surgery. Coleman-Williams has 23 catches for 415 yards and four touchdowns this season, averaging 18 yards per reception.
Alabama’s top cornerback Zabien Brown is also questionable as he works his way back from a lower-leg injury suffered in the October 17th loss to Tennessee.
Starting center Racin Delgatty, who has missed the last two games with a lower-leg injury, is another player listed as questionable. His absence has coincided with struggles in Alabama’s running game.
The Crimson Tide could also get freshman running back E.J. Crowell back. He is listed as questionable after missing time. Crowell has rushed for 216 yards and four touchdowns on 32 carries, including several explosive runs against Florida State, South Carolina and Mississippi State.
Defensive tackle Terrance Sanders is also questionable. The Oregon transfer has started six games and recorded 11 tackles, four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He has not played since Alabama's October 10th loss to Georgia.
One notable omission from LSU’s availability report is tight end Trey’Dez Green. Green returned from a knee injury that sidelined him since Week 3 and made an immediate impact in LSU’s last game, catching five passes for 50 yards and a touchdown.
“I had no doubt in my mind that I was going to be back at 100%,” Green said.
LSU will need Green to be a productive part of the offense during a challenging stretch against Alabama, Texas and Tennessee. All three opponents are expected to present physical challenges, something the 6-foot-7 junior says he has learned to embrace.
“Being a basketball player, I just wanted to come in, catch touchdowns and celebrate. I didn’t really want to be hit, or be physical,” said Green, who briefly played basketball at LSU during the 2024-25 season.
“But as I’ve grown and learned the game of football and learned the position itself, I have to be physical. And once I started being physical, it just opened up so much more for me.”
LSU hosts Alabama Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.
