Jae Crowder's position is an "F" on the stat sheet, but that's not quite what the fans meant when they yelled that to the Suns forward three separate times in the second quarter of Game 4.
"Fu-- Jae Crowder," the fans yelled repeatedly, beginning after he drew yet another offensive foul, this time on Jonas Valanciunas, as he has throughout the series while hitting the floor at even the slightest of contact.
Crowder has drawn the ill will from the fans despite scoring just 19 points over the first 3.5 games, and that status was certainly not improved when he was on the receiving end of a Jaxson Hayes push that landed the Pelicans forward ejected in Game 3. After the chants began Crowder drew two quick fouls of his own, and he was one of the first Suns out of the locker room putting up shots before the second half. Suns star guard Chris Paul had a similar chant directed at him in Game 3, which the Suns won 114-111.
Crowder had 3 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 fouls at halftime of Game 4, with the Suns leading 51-49 and aiming to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the first-round series.
