The New Orleans Pelicans didn’t return from the All-Star break the way they’d hoped too as they suffered a 135-105 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday night.
“A really embarrassing evening for us tonight,” Pelicans coach Stan Van Sunday said. ”(The Timberwolves) played well and were inspired to play. We didn’t seem to care. We got what we deserved. When I say we, again, I’m not putting it all on the players. I’m a big part of that too, but I’m not absolving them. It’s all of us.”
The Pelicans held a 34-27 lead after the first quarter but the Timberwolves scored 40 in the second and never trailed as Minnesota finished shooting nearly 48 percent from 3.
"I think we were just making shots the first eight minutes of the game and after that our shots weren't falling."
