The 2026 Louisiana prep football season is here!
More than 200 teams will begin the campaign, but when it's all over in 15 weeks, only eight teams will have earned the right to call themselves "state champions."
For some of those teams, such as Edna Karr, this season represents a chance to come closer to making history. In addition to seeking a three-peat, the Cougars could close in on the state record for most consecutive wins.
For others, this season represents a new beginnings. For powerhouse programs such as St. Paul's, Union Parish, and defending Division I-Non-Select state champion Ouachita Parish, new head coaches have taken the reigns in hopes of leading their programs to the Superdome.
