Demario Davis laughed and smiled when asked about a bizarre moment following the Saints' victory over the Jets, but he knew he was fortunate that it didn't end a whole lot worse.
It came in the moments following the end of the game, while players more still milling around the field, shaking hands and exchanging jerseys and pleasantries. That's when a fan came running onto the field in the direction of Demario Davis.

The fan, who appeared to be wearing a Saints jersey under a flannel jacket, was then tackled from behind by an officer at the stadium. The pair collided with Davis' legs before the fan was led off in handcuffs.
“It could’ve been bad, but I’m just grateful to God it wasn’t. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. So I was protected in that moment," Davis said. "The fan wasn’t. … We’re just big on focusing on the positive.”
It was a wild moment that could be laughed about due to the lack of an injury or issue on Davis' end. Alexander said he saw the whole situation unfold, adding that he'd never seen anything like it.
Davis has seen it happen multiple times, though. While this fan was fully clothed, he's even witnessed it occur in the full streaking sense.
“Arkansas State is wild man,” Davis said, speaking of his former college.
The linebacker also gave an assessment on a subject he knows a thing or two about: "I have never seen a missed tackle in those situations."
