The Saints did not have anyone missing from practice to start week 10’s prep for the San Francisco 49ers.
QB Drew Brees (shoulder), WR Michael Thomas (ankle/hamstring), T Ryan Ramczyk (back), and C Erik McCoy (back) were all limited.
Kwon Alexander has cleared all COVID protocols after getting traded to New Orleans last week, so the linebacker was finally able to practice with his new teammates for the first time today.
"He's in the building and is doing well,” head coach Sean Payton said of the former LSU Tiger. “He'll be working on this game plan and good to finally, really, meet him. We’ve, over the years, seen him in Tampa and of course in San Francisco. It's good to have him here."
Meanwhile, Tommy Stevens was released from the practice squad. The Saints jumped back into the 7th round of this year’s draft to select him. Stevens played quarterback at Mississippi State, but had been moved to tight end and was believed to be a Taysom Hill-like project.
Christian Ringo was added to the practice squad in Stevens place. The 28-year-old defensive end played college ball at Louisiana-Lafayette and has spent time in Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit and Green Bay. In 20 career games he has tallied 1.5 sacks with a forced fumble, 3 tackles for loss and 5 hits on the quarterback.
