While defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins (knee) and cornerback Justin Hardee (groin) did not practice on Wednesday, the bigger news was a few big names who were limited.
Wide receivers Michael Thomas (ankle/hamstring) and Marquez Calloway (ankle) were joined by Drew Brees (shoulder) and Alvin Kamara (foot).
"I'm always limited on Wednesday," Brees told the media. "I'm 41 years old. I have a lot of stuff going on. I keep ticking"
Kamara was quick to squash any thoughts that he might miss week 9’s prime time matchup in Tampa.
“I’m playing on Sunday. You ever stub your toe on the corner of a bedpost or something? That’s kind of what I’m dealing with.” Kamara explained
“I’m fine, I’ll be out at practice tomorrow. It’s more maintenance than anything.”
Guard Nick Easton has passed through the NFL’s concussion protocols and was back to being a full practice participant. Receiver Emmanuel Sanders was also seen, which means his is finally off of the reserve/COVID-19 list.
