Former New Orleans Saints linebacker Ronald Powell has died at 32 years old.
The NFL Player's Association announced the news on social media Tuesday morning.
"Today we mourn the loss of Ronald Powell- a father, a brother, and a son who was loved and cherished by so many. We send comfort to all those who knew Ronald," read a post from an NFLPA account that represents former players.
Powell's cause of death was unknown.
The Riverside, California native was a 5th round pick of the Saints out of the University of Florida in the 2014 draft. Powell appeared in 14 games for the Saints in the following season, but was waived and signed by the Bears the following season. Powell also spent a season with the Seahawks but did not appear in a game, later playing for the Orlando Apollos of the Aliiance of American Football.
