Multiple outlets reported Wednesday that former New Orleans Saints football player Jimmy Graham, 36, had been in a car accident and was recovering from injuries.
AJ Hawk, another former football player, said on the Pat McAfee show Wednesday that Graham was hit by a car Tuesday. Per the show, Graham is now a professional cyclist. He was reportedly hit by a car while riding his bike in Miami, Fla.
“He says he did more damage to the car than the car did to him,” said Hawk of Graham. However, Hawk did say that the former NFL player had an injury on his calf and “tons of stitches.”
According to Fox News, Graham – a North Carolina native who has also played for the Seattle Seahawks, the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears – has not announced his retirement yet. However, he didn’t play in the National Football League last year.
Hawk said that in addition to cycling, Graham is planning to sail around the world.
“He’s on a boat and he has somebody like a captain that trains him and teaches him everything. Then, he goes on little short two-, three-day trips now,” Hawk said.
