A new face on SEC Network will be a familiar one for Saints fans, as tight end Benjamin Watson joins the network as an analyst.
Watson, who played four seasons over two stints in New Orleans, will join the network as a studio analyst for SEC Now and SEC Football Final, according to an announcement on Wednesday.
"The SEC is near and dear to me," Watson said in the announcement. "Like all the fans, I can’t wait for kickoff weekend."
Watson is no stranger to the Southeastern Conference, playing four seasons at Georgia before he was drafted No. 32 overall by the New England Patriots in 2004. Watson played six seasons with the Patriots, and then spent three years in Cleveland before first joining the Saints in 2013. Watson played three seasons in New Orleans, then signed with the Baltimore Ravens, where he played for two seasons.
Watson returned to the Saints for the 2018 season, after which he announced his retirement. Watson unretired and rejoined the Patriots the following season, after which he officially retired.
Watson caught 547 passes for 6,058 yards and 44 touchdowns over his NFL career, and won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in the 2005 season.
