Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was taken to the hospital after the team's overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers to "be examined for a possible throat contusion," according to Geoff Hobson of the team's website.
The former No. 1 overall pick had to clear concussion protocol in the second quarter of the team's Week 5 game, but did ultimately return and play the rest of the game. It's unclear if this was the play that he potentially injured his throat on:
Burrow completed 26 of 38 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns Sunday, but was also picked off twice, including once in overtime. The Bengals dropped to 3-2 with a 25-22 loss.
The former LSU star tore his left ACL and MCL in Week 11 of his rookie season, ending a potential campaign for Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
