One of the first things Kelvin Banks Jr. did after finding out his NFL destination was head to social media to find out what people were saying. What he found there was a bit surprising -- and slightly gross.
That's because as he was elatedly celebrating with family after hearing his name called to the New Orleans Saints at No. 9, over in the other side of the shot was baby Khalil Banks spitting up at an inopportune moment.
It didn't take long for eagle-eyed observers to turn that into a viral moment, which Banks got a good laugh out of while talking to the media after the selection.
The funny thing is before the draft started, my girlfriend [Demetria Bolden] was like she hoped she doesn’t have one of those draft moments. … I ran back upstairs, I told her, you got your draft moment," Banks said. "I showed her and she just died laughing.”

The moment will become a funny anecdote on what was otherwise a joyous occasion, with Banks relishing the opportunity to stay close to home as a member of the Saints, speaking from an Airbnb in Houston where his draft party was held with a host of family on hand.
“It’s very gratifying," Banks said, just because I could’ve went anywhere, but the Saints chose me and like I said it’s … basically right down the street so I get to see my family get to come to all the home games whenever they want to, really, so it’s definitely a good feeling.”
