Saints CB Marshon Lattimore headed to IR; Jason Pierre-Paul elevated for Week 12

Another Saints star is out for at least the next four weeks, with cornerback Marshon Lattimore headed to injured reserve with an ankle injury.

Lattimore did not practice throughout the week and had already been ruled out for Week 12, with Dennis Allen indicating earlier in the week that landing on IR was still a possibility. He'll join WR Michael Thomas on IR, with both players eligible to return as of Week 16.

Both Lattimore and Thomas (knee) exited with their injuries during a Week 10 loss to the Vikings, and extra time over the bye week was not enough to get them right. The Saints have already added CB Cam Dantzler to the active roster, with Ike Yiadom and Alontae Taylor expected to fill the void left by Lattimore in some capacity. It's the second consecutive season that the Saints will have to make do without Lattimore for an extended stretch, with the CB missing 10 games due to kidney and rib injuries in 2022.

At wide receiver the Saints will be expected to lean on second-year pros Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, with rookie A.T. Perry expected to take on an expanded role. The team also signed a familiar face to the practice squad in WR Marquez Callaway, but he will not be elevated for Week 12.

The Saints are making two practice squad elehvations for the showdown with the Falcons in fullback Adam Prentice and newly signed DE Jason Pierre-Paul. The veteran pass-rusher will wear No. 54 after donning No. 14 for his first week of practice.

The Saints will also be without RB Kendre Miller, while DE Isaiah Foskey is questionable with a quad injury.
