New Orleans native Stan Verrett announced as Saints pregame host for 2025
The New Orleans Saints' in-house pregame show just added a bit more star power.
The team announced on Wednesday that New Orleans native and longtime ESPN host would be joining its pregame show for the 2025 season, hosting alongside former Saints linebacker and Super Bowl champion Scott Shanle.
"We are thrilled to welcome back Stan Verrett back home to New Orleans and into the Saints family," team president Dennis Lauscha said in a news release. "Stan's experience, insight and love for this city make him the perfect host to lead this new pregame show, and help us deliver an engaging, high-quality show to our fans."
Saints fans will know Verrett, a St. Aug alum and longtime Saints fan, as one of the major personalities leading SportsCenter broadcasts for the past quarter century. He also helped pioneer the L.A. edition of the show, beginning in 2009. Verrett began his career as a sports anchor and reporter at WDSU.
Verrett, 59, announced earlier this year that he'd be parting ways with ESPN earlier this year and that he'd be working on multiple projects, including a Twitch show with longtime co-host Neil Everett.
The Saints pregame and postgame show, which will also feature team reporter Erin Summers, will be hosted in the Caesars Superdome on gamedays, and from the team facility during road weeks. The show will be available on all Saints digital playforms.
