Sean Payton explains how he found out Saints-Bears would air on Nickelodeon

Sunday’s Saints-Bears contest is being broadcasted on multiple networks Sunday including the children’s network Nickelodeon.

Saints coach Sean Payton told a funny story Friday about how he found out about the special broadcast.


“The first time I realized we were going to be on Nickelodeon was someone tweeted about me getting slimed,” he said with a laugh. “So I had to look that up.”

Payton said he glad the NFL is using different platforms for the game and that the league chose the New Orleans Saints game for to do so..

When asked if he expected to be slimed, Payton said he would only enjoy it if the Saints win.

“I will officially volunteer to be slimed if we win,” he said with a laugh.

The Nick broadcast is set to “feature one-of-a-kind kid-focused content and Nick-themed elements throughout, including a special halftime presentation, guest reporters and original on-field graphics, virtual filters and more.”

Play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle, CBS Sports analyst Nate Burleson and Nick star Gabrielle Nevaeh Green will be on the call along with Nick star Lex Lumpkin as a reporter.
