The New Orleans Saints freed up over $13 million in cap space Saturday after restructuring the contracts of defensive end Cam Jordan and linebacker Demario Davis, according to a report from the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Saints reportedly created $13,443,750 in cap space with the moves.
Davis and Jordan have both been among the top players at their position the past two seasons and Davis recently signed an extension with the Saints during the 2020 season.
The restructures are the latest in a series move the Saints have made this week with included restructuring defensive tackle David Onymatata’s contract and kicker Will Lutz’s. New Orleans also released tight ends Josh Hill and Jared Cook, who was set to become a free agent, as well as punter Thomas Morstead.
